One RAFSA dinghy entered the first 2000 Class event of the year, Millennium Series 1 at Weir Wood SC on 20/21 Apr.  In very shifty light airs, racing was challenging, snakes and ladders across the course. Ed and Ruben Dodwell had a progressive day finishing 14, 9 and 7 out of 23 boats.  Day 2 saw a wind switch bringing some real fruity gusts across a section of the lake.  This meant a small racetrack loop of a course and seemingly a better chance for Ed and Ruben who were cutting around in the top 5 in race 1 … until spinnaker halyard failure.  Game over for RAFSA and an early bath.  No finish in the final 3 races saw Ed and Ruben heading home with a final position of 17 and some key advice from the experts, ‘go Marlow Excel 4mm’!
